Justin Bieber is not doing great after Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ arrest.
As Perezcious readers know, the rapper was arrested in NYC on Monday on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Considering JB met Puff Daddy when he was just a teen — and people have already speculated about what may have gone down between them — it’s no shocker to hear that the pop star is reeling from the legal drama.

On Thursday, a source told DailyMail.com that the new dad has been totally “thrown” by the allegations, explaining:
“Bieber is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it so he has shut off.”
Oof. We hope he has someone he can talk to…
As mentioned, the Baby crooner met the Last Night artist when he was just a teenager. In 2009, they appeared in video together in which Diddy gushed about having custody of the teen idol for 48 hours — seemingly having been connected via Justin’s mentor Usher. He said they were going to go “full buck, full crazy” and that it would be a teen guy’s “dream.” Then years later, they appeared in another vid, but this time Diddy scolded Justin for dodging him! Justin looked pretty uncomfortable, too. So, not great looking back.
The many appearances together also showed how close they were during the Canadian’s rise to fame. This adds another layer of complication to the allegations, the insider continued:
“So many people who helped to make him who he is were very close to Diddy and it has completely thrown him.”
Yeah, that’s gotta be an icky realization now. Diddy has been accused of throwing some very explicit sex parties, drugging women, and so much more. You’d hate to think Justin was surrounded by tons of people who were in on that, too, especially when he was just a kid…
But it’s not like Hailey Bieber‘s hubby stopped hangin’ with Diddy as a teen. They actually worked together a year ago — something he deeply regrets now. The source shared:
“He had a long break from Diddy when he believes most of this took place and he had distanced himself from him. He was featured on Diddy’s most recent album, and had he known any of this, there is no way he would have done it.”
Justin was featured on the song Moment on the September 2023 album, The Love Album: Off the Grid. It’s interesting that the source went out of their way to note that they think the Biebz was nowhere near P. Diddy when most of his problematic behavior took place. Whether or not that’s the case, they were still close just months ago! At the time the song dropped, the Holy singer gushed about the collab on his Instagram Story, writing:
“I remember going to my brother Diddy’s office to pitch him a song I wrote for him when I was like 14. Sadly the song was trash haha and it would be a hard no from him, fast forward to a few years ago Puff asked if I would freestyle something for his upcoming love album. Wild full circle moment, love you @diddy.”
Oof.
That didn’t age great. But, FWIW, there were reports that the 30-year-old fired his business manager earlier this summer to further distance himself from Diddy after the first allegations surfaced, so it does seem like he’s been taking all this seriously. Despite feeling disgusted by the allegations in private, don’t expect the Grammy winner to open up about this scandal in public, the source continued:
“Justin hasn’t been responding on this since the home raids. He’s not going to.”
Jeez. We really hope he has a safe place to process this — and that he didn’t witness any of this nefarious behavior!
