Kathie Lee Gifford isn’t like all those other Hollywood flakes — she’s a TRUE friend!
During her interview on Andy Cohen‘s radio show, the Today cohost revealed that she has not abandoned her friendships with Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby in the wake of their sexual misconduct scandals. Smh.

Revealing that she reached out to both of her old pals when their scandals first broke, the 64-year-old explained:
“I’ve been friends with Bill for a long, long time├óΓé¼┬ª Harvey Weinstein was a friend of mine for 30 years. I called him and left a message.”
And in that message, unlike the others Weinstein has probably received, Kathie Lee wanted the disgraced movie mogul to know that she does not pass judgement on his unsavory actions, because, again, she’s *such* a good friend.
She continued, getting spiritual:
“I just want people to know I don’t judge them. I don’t like what they do, but God knows their hearts and there’s hope for them. You can’t call yourself a friend if the first minute there’s trouble, you run. That’s called a fair-weather friend and that’s not a friend at all.”
But don’t get it twisted — just because KLG is still friends with Cosby and Weinstein doesn’t mean she approves of what they did:
“I hope people are not misunderstanding this. I’m not saying that that kind of behavior is in any way acceptable. It isn’t, and it’s horrible, and as a woman who has experienced it, it’s awful.”
She concluded on a dramatic AF note:
“But can we at least look at each individual case and see it for what it is? And be merciful to people who are sorry for what they’ve done? If we stop having mercy as a part of our vocabulary, Andy, our world will completely die.”
Are Weinstein and Cosby really sorry for what they’ve done though? It sounds more like they’re sorry their careers are over.
Yes, we shouldn’t throw away the concept of mercy, but we also need to hold people accountable for their actions! Maybe Hoda Kotb can explain that to Kathie Lee when she’s done hosting the actual Today show.
