Kellie Pickler's Husband Found Dead By Suicide

Such an awful, shocking end…

Kellie Pickler‘s husband died on Friday by what authorities believe at this time to be suicide, according to a statement by the Nashville Police Department.

The police and fire department were called to the couple’s Nashville home at 1:21 p.m. local time, where they found a body which they identified as Kyle Jacobs. The American Idol alum told the cops she woke up in the late morning/early afternoon and couldn’t find Kyle anywhere in the house. She and her personal assistant searched all over — until they found a room they couldn’t get open, the “the upstairs bedroom/office”. That’s when the assistant called 911.

The Nashville PD opened the door and found Kyle “deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.” They confirmed:

“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.”

Just heartbreaking.

Kellie and Kyle were married on New Year’s Day back in 2011 — making them husband and wife for over 12 years. They did not share any children.

Kyle was a successful country songwriter and producer, known for Garth Brooks‘ More Than A Memory, Tim McGraw‘s Still, and multiple hits for Lee Brice. He was apparently working on a new project for Brice before his tragic death.

So sad and incomprehensible… RIP, Kyle…
