With Michael Strahan departing LIVE! this Friday, we’re getting anxious to find out who Kelly Ripa chooses to be her new cohost!
Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper were early contenders to replace the future Good Morning America star but have backed down due to other hosting commitments.
And while other rumored frontrunner Jerry O’Connell admitted he has yet to be approached by the ABC morning program, he would definitely have a hard time turning the offer down!

Speaking at a press event on Monday for his upcoming role on Mistresses, the actor said it would be a “dream” to work next to Ripa every morning!
He told Us Weekly:
“To get to work next to Kelly Ripa would be anyone’s dream in that field. Kelly is the best of the best. … Having worked with her there at LIVE, Kelly is the best. I’m always Team Kelly.”
Rebecca Romijn‘s hubby, no stranger to guest hosting LIVE! next to Ripa, said he would jump at the opportunity to join the show full time, continuing:
“It would be an honor ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I would do anything Kelly asked me to do. That’s how much I respect her.”
Wow, he’s really gunning for that interview already!

As for if O’Connell was surprised about Strahan’s sudden departure, he quipped:
“Wasn’t everybody surprised ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ including Kelly? Everyone was, right? But it’s gonna be fun. Kelly’s the best. Kelly’s the best! I’ll watch Kelly with anybody.”
Well, the Stand By Me alum certainly made it clear he’s in Kelly’s corner!
We think Jerry’s enthusiasm alone makes him a solid candidate — and hopefully, Kelly agrees!
