Kelly Rutherford is unbreakable!
In addition to gracing the cover of the most recent issue of Elle Romania, the Gossip Girl actress also opened up about her heartbreaking loss after a six year custody battle.
As we previously reported, a judge ruled this winter that the blonde beauty would NOT be allowed to bring her two kiddos Helena and Hermes to the United States for visits. This decision came about after the former soap opera star refused to return her children back to their poppa Daniel Giersch.

In her interview, she shared:
“Children need both parents. You do not want to make them suffer. I hope that this story be an example to others… Now, I want them to be happy, to know that they are loved. No matter how long it takes this, I want them to know the truth.”
That’s very fair. Still, after reflecting on her own parents’ divorce the 47-year-old seems determined to keep the little ones away from the drama.
She continued:
“I know that if I find my peace, they will benefit…talk about love because I hope that is what will make them stronger. When all this is over, I hope that they will look back and have the impression that it was not as bad as it was, actually. I do not want them to feel everything. There are good people and generous and funny.”
Tissues, anyone?? Though Kelly may not have won her case, she hopes her situation will help others. The mother-of-two noted:
“Perhaps activists will increase because of this situation. I hope that something good will come of it.”
We wish Kelly only the best as she deals with her most recent defeat.
