Kim Richards reportedly briefly went to the emergency room amid her history with substance abuse issues.
According to a report published by Us Weekly on Wednesday, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s daughter — Brooke Wiederhorn — was ”watching her mom in a downward spiral for weeks,” which reportedly included a stint at a UCLA hospital.

Per the source, the Bravolebrity “abruptly left” the medical center, making her children — including daughters Whitney & Kimberly, and son Chad — “concerned.”
“Kim abruptly left against medical advice… No one could find Kim for hours, [so] Brooke reached out to [more] family. All of Kim’s kids are concerned, not just Brooke.”
Though the 54-year-old’s manager and entertainment attorney told the publication his client is “fine” and “working on a big project right now,” a second insider confirmed the ER visit.
That source explained:
“She was incoherent, rambling and seemed to be having a serious mental health breakdown of sorts. Doctors did a toxicology screening, but Kim left the E.R…. Her family doesn’t know how she got out because she didn’t have a car. It’s assumed she took Uber/Lyft. Her family was frantic trying to find her and Kim turned her phone off. Kim finally surfaced the next day at her house.”
As we wrote, Kyle Richards is urging her older sister to return to treatment. Noting Kim is not “doing well” right now, the source at the time revealed:
“Kyle became aware that Kim was struggling in recent weeks and got extremely concerned based on what she was hearing… Kyle isn’t a doctor and can’t make that determination, which is why she is trying to get Kim into treatment.”
Though the two siblings have been “living their own lives for some time now,” they are on good terms.
“It’s going to be an ongoing conversation, but the good news is that Kim is being extremely receptive to Kyle, recognizing she is coming from a place of love… Kyle isn’t giving up and is trying again to get Kim to agree. It’s more for mental health than sobriety issues.”
During the season one finale of RHOBH, the American Woman producer outed Kim as an alcoholic.
After the second season, Kim declared to Andy Cohen:
“I’m an alcoholic.”
Though she completed rehab, the Nanny and the Professor and the Phantom of the Circus actress relapsed in 2015.
In April 2015, Kim was arrested for public intoxication following a confrontation with police at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Later that year, she was accused of stealing nearly $600 worth of items from Target. Kim was ordered to attend AA meetings and complete 450 hours of community service. Ultimately, she was officially off probation in September 2018.
