Last week, tragedy struck Studio 8H!
Super sad reports claim the only one of the funniest people on SNL, Kristen Wiig, will NOT be returning to the show next season.
Obviously, this is going to be super hard on fans of the show — but Wiig seems to think that she will be the one most hurt by her absence from the cast. She explains:
“This is my seventh year and that’s my family. It’s my heart. It’s New York to me.”
Then, why doesn’t she just make us, Lorne Michaels and herself happy and stay??
KW, who has not officially confirmed her departure, says that when she leaves it won’t be because “wants” to. Wiig explains:
“I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that. It’s just that it’s time. When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing…you’re there for a week and on Saturday night you’re sad because you leave these people. You have to leave things that you love.”
But you don’t have to!!
We totes get that there are bigger and better things for the Oscar-nominated writer. Howeves, we really really really want her to stay.
