Kyle Richards is shedding some light on her relationship status!
After being named Us Weekly’s Reality Star of the Year, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star sat down with the mag for a wide-ranging interview on Tuesday. In it, Kyle opened up about why she almost quit the show, her divorce from Mauricio Umansky, and even romance speculation with Morgan Wade!

First off, Kyle opened up about the teaser for season 14 which shows she almost quit the long-standing series. She expressed:
“I had a meltdown. My first in 14 years. I was like, I don’t think I can physically do this anymore. I walked off the set and didn’t shoot the next day. I was at my breaking point. I have so much on my plate, and some of the women just push. […] I needed that break. I think they saw [I was] really struggling and were reaching out to me. They actually helped me get through the rest of the season.”
She’s been through a lot — and it’s certainly not easy to do that in the public eye! It’s also difficult that she didn’t feel the love from the rest of the cast, either!! She dished:
“These last two years have been the most difficult of my life and I didn’t want to put myself through the scrutiny. I didn’t feel supported by a lot of the cast, so I felt like I wanted to disappear for a while.”

Thankfully for fans, she had a change of heart! The longtime reality TV star added:
“We have a lot of fun times, too, and the producers are family to me at this point, so I knew that would be another loss for me. My husband was just about to move out.”
As Perezcious readers know, Kyle and her real estate hubby split in 2023, though they have not officially divorced yet. It’s been a VERY complicated and confusing split. And, as you can imagine, she’s had an emotional time with the transition. Recalling the moment her ex left their marital home, which she confirmed back in the spring, she shared:
“I knew the day was coming, but when it happens, it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, this is real.’ I was so emotional after he and [daughter] Alexia both moved out. When you’re a married mom of four, the house is chaotic. So it felt so different. Thank God I still have two daughters at home.”
And yet she still feels super lonely, too. She acknowledged:
“Portia [and] Sophia are out a lot. Sometimes I’m like, ‘Wow, I didn’t expect this day to come so soon.’ It is sad for me. I’m here alone with six dogs. Am I a crazy dog lady? Maybe!”
Ugh! The Bravo personality is also a mom to daughter Farrah from a previous relationship. And while the Buying Beverly Hills star has moved on, the pair haven’t made this separation legal yet. The 55-year-old detailed:
“I don’t know what the future holds right now with Mauricio and me. We love each other. So that part is easy. What’s not easy is figuring out what’s next. We’re not divorced; he doesn’t live here, but we’re still figuring things out. On the show, people felt they were owed answers and thought I was withholding stuff — but I’m figuring it out myself.”
Understandable! That said, fans can expect to see lots of this play out on screen in the near future. Ever the self-promoter (and show promoter), she teased:
“Mau shot with me quite a bit. He’ll come over for dinner and it’s like nothing has changed, yet everything has changed. The best way I can put it is that we’re family. It’s easy for us to get along because we never fought. That was not an issue in our marriage; there’s so much love there.”
The socialite then went on to add:
“Shooting scenes after he moved out was very difficult. We were catching up in front of the cameras, so emotions were raw. He would check on me, and I was just a mess sometimes.”
Rough!!
No wonder she almost quit this season! Sounds like she went through it!
So, where does she stand in her love life today? Remember, ever since her divorce rumors broke, Kyle’s faced romance speculation with her new bestie Morgan Wade! While she’s not confirming whether or not something is going on there, she did reveal that she’s NOT single at this point in her life! OMG!
When asked if she identifies as “single” these days, the Halloween star cryptically worked her way around that label with this creative response:
“No, I don’t think of myself like that.”
Whoa!!
Does this mean she has a new lover in her life?? Or does she just not consider herself single because legally she’s still married? Hmm. Either way, the actress didn’t hold back when addressing the Morgan rumors. She continued:
“She was not used to being in the public eye, so I felt bad she was going through that. It’s quieted down for sure, but I was at a music festival where she was playing, and it was like, ‘Oh, my God, Kyle’s backstage!’ They get excited. I tune it out.”
And Kyle went on to add even more:
“I’ve been called so many names. People weigh in on arguments on the show even though they don’t know the backstory. People have speculated about my marriage and my sexuality. I let most of it go, but sometimes you’re like, ‘Come on. Give me a break.’”
Regardless of what’s true or not, Kyle DGAF about what anyone says about her anymore! She concluded:
“I don’t care to [clear up misconceptions] anymore. That also went out the window. You’re free to think what you want about me.”
Whoa! Ever since this split, she’s really gotten way more bold and confident! Good for her!
