Liam Hemsworth‘s social life is looking up a little bit!
The 29-year-old film star is back home Down Under right now after officially splitting from longtime love Miley Cyrus, and judging by the most recent public pics of the star on Saturday, it appears he’s doing a little bit better with the breakup than he had been in the recent past!

The Isn’t It Romantic actor was spotted hanging out with pals at a bar in Byron Bay, Australia this weekend — marking at least the second major public appearance Down Under for the celeb since his split from Cyrus. Based on the paparazzi pictures taken from the outing (which you can see HERE, by the way), it appeared like he was having quite a bit of fun, too! Nice!!!
That marks a change in trend from at least a few of the insider reports of late, which have held Hemsworth as being relatively down and out about the split from the former Disney Channel icon. To hear certain insiders tell it, Liam has been somewhat sad about the breakup, while Miley has gone on to party things and fun flings — you know, with Brody Jenner‘s ex, and all that.
But maybe the insiders have it wrong, and Liam is over it, too! He was certainly all smiles in Byron Bay this weekend — and the new pics come just days after he had previously been spotted surfing at the Australian tourist destination prior to that.

Whatever the case may be, it’s clear there’s enough history between these two to wonder where things might lead in the next few months, or even years. Liam’s family is reportedly scared the couple may get back together again… but still other insiders insinuate family members are all the way on board with a potential reconciliation.
And while Miley does her thing back stateside, it’s clear Liam is more than content to do his in Australia right now, too, at the very least suggesting these two just need an extended time apart before they figure out what’s going on. They have been together on and off for ten years, after all — it’s really quite the long relationship history!
