We finally learned what drugs Liam Payne was on the day of his death. And the list is upsetting.
The full toxicology report has not yet been made public, but insiders told ABC News on Monday that Liam had cocaine, crack, benzodiazepine, and what’s called “pink cocaine” (a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and more) in his system. Horrible.
And while he didn’t die of an overdose, the mental state brought about by the severe intoxication surely bears some responsibility for his decision to jump from his balcony. That’s especially true given we’ve already learned he was in a “state of semi or total unconsciousness” when he fell.
Sounds like a major bender. But Liam’s relapse apparently JUST started. He was clean just days before. How do we know? He had to get tested when he got to Argentina on September 30! A friend told The US Sun on Monday that he was trying to renew his American visa, and US embassy officials made him take a drug test. Maybe everyone has to, but it’s especially relevant for someone who spent 100 days in rehab last year. The insider spilled:
“The embassy said Liam needed to do a strict investigation including X-rays and a blood test to search for traces of drugs.”
The results? Which had just come in the day before Liam’s death? He was clean and sober. Damn.

So where did Liam get all the drugs??
A source inside the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office told People last week there was “evidence that a hotel employee sourced the drugs for” the One Direction singer. And that’s exactly what this pal says was going on:
“When he checked in at the hotel, at some point someone there started giving him drugs.”
He moved into the CasaSur after girlfriend Kate Cassidy left the country on October 12. It’s still unknown which day, but his check-in was reportedly at about 11 p.m.
Multiple staff have reportedly already been fired from the hotel. Police are said to be investigating two employees, one of whom was a cleaner. The drugs themselves are theorized to have come to him in a Dove soap box — and have been sourced to an impoverished neighborhood about 15 miles away from the Buenos Aires hotel. Cops may even have an address in the city of Lomas de Zamora, per sources. So this investigation is really moving!
The friend certainly hopes for justice — they’re laying the blame squarely on the dealers who, they believe, took advantage of Liam:
“Liam had tried really hard to get clean, then he’s been preyed upon. These people just care about money – they don’t care about putting people’s lives in danger. It’s an evil trade. This is all just tragic.”
Oof. If he really was clean and just got so stressed and lonely he fell off the wagon… That’s so awful.
