Lindsay Lohan and Dina Lohan are proving that you can’t say whatever you want about them and get away with it!
On Monday, the mother-daughter duo sued Fox News, as well as correspondents Sean Hannity and Michelle Fields, about a comment Fields’ made regarding Lindsay and Dina doing cocaine together in segment dated February 4, 2014.

As we EXCLUSIVELY reported last year, on Hannity during a segment called “Great American Debate”, the two pundits discussed the heroin overdose of Philip Seymour Hoffman just two days prior, and analyzed which other celebrities could face a similar fate.
That’s when the female anchor said:

“Lindsay’s mom is doing cocaine with her.”

14 days after that incident, the 28-year-old actress and her lawyers demanded in a letter that Fox News retract their statement and remove the video clip and related blog post from their website.
While the network issued an on-air apology admitting that Fields’ comment wasn’t verified, they never took down said content, hence the motivation for Monday’s lawsuit.
According to their attorneys Mark Jay Heller and David J. Hernandez, the Lohans have suffered:

“and will continue to suffer severe mental and emotional distress; embarrassment and humiliation; pain and suffering; and economic loss, including loss of income, entertainment and acting contracts, present and future diminished income and economic opportunities.”

The Mean Girls star’s legal team has also described Fields’ comment as “outrageously slanderous and defamatory.”
They are seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
