If this weren’t already a big night for Anderson Cooper, he’ll certainly think it is now!
Word has just come out that the incomparable journalist will not only be honored at this year’s 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, held on March 16th, with the “Vito Russo Award” – given to an “openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality – but he will do so alongside the QUEEN herself, Madonna!
That’s right, although it’s unclear exactly how the legendary pop star will be contributing to the ceremony at this time, she’ll be appearing alongside her longtime friend the Silver Fox!
GLAAD President Herndon Graddick says in a statement:
“Madonna has been a passionate spokesperson and longtime supporter of gay rights. She has embraced LGBT people around the world on many occasions. From speaking out against bullying to raising support for marriage equality, Madonna has always been one of our community’s strongest allies. We are honored to have her stand with GLAAD and Anderson Cooper.”
Agh! Just the idea of the two of them together makes us weak at the news!
And for a celebration of their profound contributions to the advancement of the LGBT community?!
PERFECTION!
Congratulations again, Anderson!
We cannot WAIT to hear you and Her Madgesty’s words of inspiration! How about U guys??
UPDATE: Madonna will be PRESENTING the award to her long-time friend! Aww!
