Uh-oh!
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has reported an unusually high number of manatees dying due to cold waters this year.
Between January 1 and December 17, 246 of the already endangered species have died of “cold stress”, which is a drastic increase compared to the same time period in 2009 in which only 55 died of the cold.
Check out the video above explaining why more than 300 manatees floated in the outflow of Tampa Electric’s Big Bend Power Station to stay warm this past Tuesday.
