Former Animal Planet Host Tried To Smuggle Endangered Lizards!

El Lay based herpetologist, Donald Schultz, a former Animal Planet host, has plead guilty to a federal charge of trying to sell two endangered lizards!
The former host tried to sell two Iranian desert monitor lizards without a permit. Oh, and did we mention he tried to sell them to an undercover agent with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service?
Yeah, not the best idea ever.
He tried to sell the rare lizards through Facebook for $3,000 for the both of them.
The undercover agent responded to the ad and got him down to $2,500 before meeting at his house and giving him the money and actually having the lizards shipped.
While hosting the show Wild Recon Donald once held an Iranian desert monitor and said it was:

“[├óΓé¼┬ª] really endangered and highly protected.”

Wow, so he even specifically knew the seriousness of what he was doing.
He’s expected to be sentenced to two years of probation, will have to do 200 hours of community service and pay a fine of at least $6,000.
He did the crime, now he’s gotta do the time!
Check out the video (above) to see Donald catching a lizard!! (Though he let this one go instead of trying to sell it to make a quick buck!)
