Remember when Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton were supposedly “strengthening” their relationship amid the Royal rift between the houses of Sussex and Cambridge?
We guess all of that went out the window, along with the Duchess of Sussex who, along with Prince Harry, stepped away from Royal duties and from Buckingham Palace for a new life and new career in Canada.

According to a source spilling to Us Weekly, any water that was supposed to be under the bridge got flushed when Harry and Meghan made their announcement:
“Kate and Meghan have not spoken since [the royal exit] happened.”
Dang. Meghan is doing the Royal family like she did her original family! Zing!
For real though, we’d heard in recent weeks the Duchesses were “barely” speaking — and if the info we’ve gathered is correct, Meghan knew as much as eight months before the rest of the world that she and Harry were planning to jet out of there.
Maybe Meg figured why bother with all that work repairing the relationship if she was just going to leave anyway?
In any case, this insider is apparently seeing the Sussex side of the chess board, because they’re saying definitively Meghan is not looking back or having any second thoughts about the grand exit:
“Meghan feels free. She has never been happier. She’s happy to be out of London.”
So everything went according to plan? Perhaps even better? The source adds:
“She was surprised at how quickly everything happened. They knew they’d have to relinquish their titles, but the pace it happened surprised everyone. The palace thought it would take longer, but they went with it.”
Hey, when someone wants to leave, why drag it out, right?
Obviously Meghan would be happy to be out of there the quicker the better. While she hasn’t spoken publicly about the decision — yet — she’s reportedly telling friends she “felt she had to escape because living within the royal confines was soul crushing.”
And not just for her either! As a source told DailyMail.com earlier this week:
“Meghan has been telling her close friends that this is the best thing that could ever happen to Harry. That out of anyone he will flourish the most and that it was her love for him that made this possible… She said that like her, his spirit was being crushed and she simply couldn’t stand to see him suffer anymore.”
If that’s true, no wonder she hasn’t looked back. Though you’d think she’d at least give Kate one call, right? They are still sisters-in-law after all.
