Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Announce Instagram Break To Focus On 'New Chapter'

We won’t be seeing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry online for a little while!

For those who have been keeping up with the Sussexes, you’re likely aware by now that Megxit officially goes into place on Tuesday, nearly two months after the pair first made the bombshell announcement that they would be taking a step back from their senior roles in the royal family.

While we already figured they’d be laying low, at least for a bit, they’re taking a full on Instagram hiatus!!

On Monday morning, it was announced via their @SussexRoyal IG page:

“As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile. Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realise the fullness of that promise.

What’s most important right now is the health and wellbeing of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic.”

Referencing their impending “new chapter,” the twosome went on (see the full post HERE) to explain — in so many words — they’ll be taking a break from the online world:

“As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute.

While you may not see us here, the work continues.

Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!

Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.

We can assume it has something to do with their official exit date from their royal roles as they figure out logistics related to that, but it could also be related to their recent move from Canada to Los Angeles!

Either way, we’re definitely intrigued!! And we’ll keep you posted when, and if, they return. Especially because they could be coming back with a whole new Insta handle after the back and forth related to their intended use of “Sussex Royal” branding.
