This is horrible!
This week, Ahmed Mohamed was arrested by Texas police for bringing a homemade clock to school — because teachers thought it looked like a bomb!
According to reports, the 14-year-old student was suspended from Irving McArthur High School and taken to a juvenile detention center after his English teacher noticed the clock and immediately reported the student to the police!

Though the 9th grader explained that he made a clock and only brought it to school to show his engineering teacher. He recalled:
“She was like, ‘It looks like a bomb.’ It doesn’t look like a bomb to me.”
Are bombs even made from clocks besides in Wile E. Coyote cartoons??
Mohamed was taken out of class and questioned by police — he was even escorted off the school premises in handcuffs.
The engineering enthusiast’s father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, believes his son’s ethnicity is largely responsible for the perception that the clock was a bomb. He said:
“He just wants to invent good things for mankind. But because his name is Mohamed and because of Sept. 11, I think my son got mistreated.”
It sounds like racial profiling to us.
We wonder if the educators would assume other 9th grade students would bring a bomb to school if they were of a different ethnicity.
We’re just thankful the smarty won’t face charges over the administration’s incompetence! Not to mention we’re also thrilled that President Barack Obama backed up the young scholar, tweeting:
