The cops are officially getting involved in Nick Carter‘s rape case.
As we reported, in November 2017, Dream singer Melissa Schuman accused the Backstreet Boys star of sexual assault for an incident in 2002 where he allegedly performed oral sex on her, forced her to reciprocate, took her to a bedroom, and then forced her to have sex. At the time of the alleged crime, she was 18 and he was 22.

According to TMZ, on Wednesday, Schuman filed a police report against Carter with the Santa Monica Police Department. Law enforcement sources say the case will be handed to LAPD’s Special Crimes unit, which was established after the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
Shortly after Melissa’s allegations went viral, Aaron Carter‘s brother responded saying she “never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual.”
In a December 2017 interview with Dr. Oz, Schuman said she forgives the boy band member and wishes him “the best.”
