UPDATE 2/06/20 4:22 P.M. PST: Gordon’s cause of death has been officially ruled as an accidental heroin overdose. According to the autopsy and toxicology report obtained by TMZ, he was hospitalized for seven hours after being found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest; Narcan, a drug usually used to reverse the effects of an overdose, was found in his system.
Nick Gordon, the man found responsible for the untimely death of Whitney Houston‘s daughter, has died. He was 30 years old.
Gordon, pictured above alongside Bobbi Kristina back in 2014, was the late woman’s ex-fiancé at the time of her death in 2015, caused by drug overdose and drowning. He was eventually found responsible for her passing by a Georgia court in 2016, and ordered to pay $36 million in damages.

According to DailyMail.com, the young man reportedly had a series of heart attacks at some point on Wednesday, due to a suspected drug overdose that occurred in Florida during New Year’s celebrations.
Gordon’s family was informed of his death earlier yesterday after doctors were unable to resuscitate him. The news was first announced publicly by Gordon’s brother, Junior Walker, who wrote the following in a message on Facebook (below):
“God why did I have to lose my brother on New Year. I love you so much big brother I hope you heard me talking to you at your bedside you are with me and I can feel it I love you I love you I love you watch over me and your nieces. All I can do is cry.”
Sad…
An insider with knowledge of the incident further added context to it, reporting to the outlet:
“It’s early days but the suggestion is he was taking drugs with friends and he passed out. They drove him to the hospital, took him inside and then left him there. Whatever you think of Nick and his lifestyle, it’s terribly sad that his supposed friends just dumped him and drove away.”
That does seem particularly cold and heartless.

Gordon’s past history is one full of controversy, to say the least. Not only was he found legally responsible for the death of the iconic songstress’ beloved daughter, but more recently he had also been arrested multiple times on domestic abuse allegations and violating no-contact orders against another former girlfriend, Laura Leal.
The pair had mostly parted ways, but an insider reports Leal is still devastated about Gordon’s untimely death:
“Laura is absolutely devastated. They were seeing less of each other recently because they wanted some space. But she cared deeply for him and was in a state of shock when she got the phone call.”
Sad stuff.
Clearly, there were quite a few demons at work in Gordon’s life; it’s sad he wasn’t able to outrun them in the end.
