UPDATE 4:30 P.M. PST: That quick!! Nikki Garcia has officially filed for divorce. CLICK HERE to learn more!

Nikki Garcia has had enough.
As we’ve been reporting, the former WWE pro wrestling star (who competed under the name Nikki Bella in the ring — one of the famous Bella Twins) is in a horrible position. She’s been left reeling, along with her 4-year-old son Matteo, as husband Artem Chigvintsev was arrested late last month in northern California on charges of felony corporal injury to a spouse. In the immediate aftermath of the arrest, just days after the Dancing With The Stars dance pro was booked into Napa County Jail and then released on $25,000 bail, Nikki reportedly began to shop around for a divorce attorney.
And now, according to a new report first published by People on Wednesday afternoon, it appears that search has come to an end. Per that mag, which cited a source close to the situation, the 40-year-old former professional wrestler HAS obtained a divorce lawyer. While the outlet did not reveal who the attorney may be, this is obviously a massive development in the ongoing estrangement between Nikki and Artem.

And it all comes so soon after the domestic violence arrest, which itself happened just DAYS after the duo had celebrated their second wedding anniversary together. Clearly, things turned very sour — and very fast. Heck, we have now confirmed that the pair isn’t even living under the same roof anymore. So, Nikki took decisive action and made quick moves to get out of that situation, it would appear. And here she is taking a huge next legal step by retaining a divorce attorney.
So much for all that talk about Artem doing his best to try to win back his wife’s trust and love. Based on this report about the divorce attorney being on call, it would seem all that has been thrown out the window.
Obviously, we continue to wish the best for Nikki — and especially for the now-estranged couple’s son Matteo, who was on scene at the time of the arrest and has no doubt been through quite a bit in recent weeks.
Ugh. This whole situation is so sad. We just hope Nikki and Matteo continue to be in as safe and healthy of a place as they can be at this point. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Share your thoughts in the comments (below)…
