When Oprah Winfrey agreed to give the commencement speech to Harvard University’s Class of 2013, she probably didn’t expect to be a part of it!
But that’s just what happened as the renowned Ivy League institution of higher learning bestowed upon Oprah an honorary degree!
Gurl was moved to tears as she accepted the priceless (and yet also crazy expensive) honor!
Later today we’ll hear just what it means to her as she delivers her epic speech! We have no idea what Oprah will say, but here’s a bit of what she told last year’s grads at Spelman College. She said:
“You must have some vision for your life. Even if you don’t know the plan, you have to have a direction in which you choose to go. What I learned is that that’s a great metaphor for life. You want to be in the driver’s seat of your own life because if you are not, life will drive you.”
We hope those graduates listen close and took notes! If there’s anyone you want life tips from, it’s Oprah!
