Parents Are Pissed Over This Slavery Homework Assignment

One Melvindale, Michigan student says his homework makes feel “ashamed of being black.” So sad!
Parents are fuming because their kids were told to pretend to be a slave for a school assignment. The students were instructed to talk like a slave, dress like a slave, and create a fake journal detailing their life working on a plantation.
The assignment is trying to teaching kids to sympathize with the horrible lifestyle slaves were forced into. We get that, we love that.
HOWEVES, it’s the “talking like a slave” part that we find totes insulting. WTF do they sound like?
Still, it’s not as raciest as THIS homework assignment!
