PETA Still Trying To Change Dumbo's Ending! Now They're Asking Recently Announced Director Tim Burton!

no title
We feel like PETA is like a little kid trying to figure out which parent to ask for more ice cream. Who is more likely to satiate their sweet tooth… but for a pretty decent reason.
When PETA heard that Disney was remaking Dumbo, they asked that the studio change the film’s ending.
The original Dumbo ends with the eponymous elephant becoming a hit circus act and everything ends happily!
Though, now we all know the circus isn’t the best place for elephants. Heck, even Ringling Bros. has promised to get rid of their elephant acts by 2018!!
So, now that the Dumbo remake has director Tim Burton on board, PETA is asking him what they already asked Disney. PETA’s Senior VP Lisa Lange wrote a letter to the director, that said, in part:

“We’re hopeful that in your adaptation of Dumbo, the young elephant and his mother can have a truly happy ending by living out their lives at a sanctuary instead of continuing to be imprisoned and abused in the entertainment industry.”

That really would be a truly modern ending!
We have a feeling that Disney would be updating the ending to reflect public opinion anyway.
So can Tim legally even respond without giving away vital plot information??

Either way, we’re glad they’re only using digital elephants in the film. Way to be a forward thinker, Tim!
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see the movie to find out what happens with the ending. Or Tim will spill the beans, but that’s just wishful thinking.
