Pete Davidson & Kaia Gerber Enjoy 'Casual Two Hour Dinner' At Nobu As Source Swears They're 'Just Friends'

Don’t let the romantic dinners fool you: Pete Davidson and Kaia Gerber are apparently nothing more than friends!

As we reported, the Saturday Night Live star and supermodel sparked romance rumors last month when they were spotted brunching together in the Soho neighborhood of New York City. Speculation swelled the next day when Davy Dog was seen leaving the 18-year-old’s NYC apartment after staying “with her all night,” according to a source.

Now, it appears the two have met up again on the other side of the States. On Monday, the comedian took Cindy Crawford’s daughter to the upscale restaurant Nobu in her hometown Malibu, California, where they enjoyed a “casual two hour dinner,” an eyewitness told E! News.

The insider noted “there wasn’t anything outwardly romantic going on” during the casual meal, but said Pete was ever the gentleman and drove the teen home. The eyewitness revealed:

“They had a casual two hour dinner at Nobu on Monday night. It seemed friendly and there wasn’t anything outwardly romantic going on. They sat across from each other and talked throughout their dinner… Pete walked out first and Kaia was behind him. They left in the same car with Pete driving. They looked at each other in the car and started laughing as they drove off.”

But just because it sounds like a date doesn’t mean it was one — and according to a separate E! News source, Pete and Kaia were very much NOT on one.

The second insider told the outlet the two are “just friends,” despite the recent romantic sightings, claiming:

“They are spending time together and having fun. They are just friends who like being together and making each other laugh.”

They’re keeping it casual!

Probably a good call, seeing as Davidson’s had his share of whirlwind, high profile romances over the past few years.

As fans know, the 25-year-old was dating Kate Beckinsale months after Ariana Grande broke off their engagement just over a year ago. After his relationship with the actress fizzled out, the Staten Island native was linked to rising star Margaret Qualley for about four months before they called it quits.

Gerber has been linked to male model Wellington Grant. However, she made it clear her busy career has left her little time for romance in the October edition of British Vogue, telling the mag:

“When I’m working, I don’t have the energy to even flirt with anyone. I’m sorry, I just can’t. But I’m not losing hope in all love forever… I have backgammon at my house, and that’s all a girl needs. When I’m home, I’m living the life of a 70 year old woman.”

And when she’s not home, she’s living the life of a Gen Z-er who has no time for commitment!
