There’s no end to this feud coming anytime soon!
Prince William might not be campaigning to ban his brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from King Charles III’s coronation like some sources have speculated, but he’s definitely not happy about a possible get-together!
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams opened up to Us Weekly on Thursday about the state of the brothers’ confrontation and what Harry’s potential return to the UK could mean for their (lack of a) bond. At first, the insider sounded somewhat hopeful by insisting the rumors that William doesn’t want his younger brother in attendance aren’t accurate — but he quickly clarified that this doesn’t exactly mean the Prince of Wales is looking forward to a potential reunion, saying:
“There’s no doubt he feels very strongly.”
Hmm… Kinda sounds to us like he doesn’t want Harry there! What else would he be feeling “strongly” about?!

The expert went on to explain that the decision will ultimately be in His Majesty’s hands, noting:
“Charles is a symbol of national unity, of course, as the monarch, and the invitation comes from him. So far as William is concerned, I mean, it’s a terribly deep rift and I don’t see it being mended.”
Even though it will be the 74-year-old’s decision, it’s hard to know what is going to happen at this point! While sources have been adamant Harry and Meghan would receive an invite, it was confirmed earlier this week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were evicted from Frogmore Cottage! The fact that tensions are rising so much within the family this close to the coronation doesn’t give us much hope for a reconciliation!
It’s not just the housing dilemma that could pose problems, either. The expert claims the royal family has been put on edge after the Archewell founder just “threatened another book.” This comes after reports claimed the Invictus Games founder is thinking of adding at least one more chapter to the paperback version of Spare, though a rep for his publisher declined the rumors.

In an interview with The Telegraph in January, Harry also revealed his original draft for the tell-all was 800 pages — so he left a lot on the cutting room floor. Enough for another book and then some! Despite this, the 38-year-old has made it clear he doesn’t plan on releasing a second book, but it doesn’t really matter. The rumors alone were enough to send his estranged relatives into a frenzy. Richard explained:
“It’s a threat. So, you can’t ignore things like that. It’s awful.”
Interestingly, the 73-year-old anglophile isn’t as worried about what would happen if Harry and Meghan attend the coronation as some royal fans. As we’ve reported, some people are worried the Cali residents would be a huge distraction at the crowning, but the insider doesn’t agree, arguing:
“I think that will be a very significant story. There’s no doubt about that. But I would say that when you get the event, I think Harry and Meghan will be very subsumed into it, and I don’t think they will dominate it at all. Quite the contrary, just as they didn’t either the Platinum Jubilee or, obviously, the queen’s funeral.”
If they aren’t in attendance, they will still be the talk of the town, TBH! So, it would benefit the royals to have them there and at least get a bit more of a handle on the narrative or public appearances. That is if they can stand to be near each other at the moment! Things have really taken a turn for the worse since Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral!
