Rene Zellweger was spotted at the World Premiere of the Lifetime TV film Living Proof at the Paris Theatre in New York on Wednesday.
And she actually looked HOT!
Goodbye sour puss, hello pussycat – meow!
But, even more surprising, Zellweger opened up in a recent interview and reveals some new personal information.
Renee admits that during a 1996 self breast examination she felt two small lumps.
Zellweger decided to have them checked out and that was probably the best decision she ever made.
The actress says, “I thought, ‘Oh, I know what you do now. You find out what that is. So I went and found out.”
They found out she had fibroadenomas, which are benign breast tumours, to which Renee jokingly calls, “a fancy word for nothing”.
Rene’s was right to be concerned, though. Her grandmother died in 1969 due to cancer.
What were Zellweger’s feelings toward the discovery and removal?
She says, “I was like, ‘Let’s just have it over with. Get in there, stab away, get your little crunchy bit or whatever you’re looking for, put it in the mail and we’ll call it a day.”
But the experience has made her take better care of herself.
Glad to hear it all went well.
Early detection is best!
