Sometimes it seems like Rihanna couldn’t escape controversy if she tried! And this time she was fully dressed, too!
Over the weekend, RiRi posed for an unauthorized photo shoot at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, and although she took care to cover her entire body, including her head, in a Stella McCartney jumpsuit, mosque officials kindly asked her to leave because her poses at the place of worship were deemed too seductive!
Eek!
A statement issued by the Centre said:
“She left without entering the mosque, after being asked to do so, due to the fact that she had taken some pictures that do not conform with the conditions and regulations put in place by the Centre├óΓé¼Γäós management to regulate visits in a way that takes the status and sanctity of the mosque into consideration.”
While she struck some typical standing poses, RiRi also got a little dramatic by lying down on the edge of a pool of water with one arm over her head, captioning the photo:
“Abu Dhabi #NoTanLines”
In another shot, she’s pictured kneeling with her arms crossed over her chest, while a different image features her directing her gaze toward a group of female Muslim worshippers, to which she added the caption:
“Bitch stole my look”
The pop star added a Saint Laurent tassel necklace and embellished Manolo Blahnik heels to the outfit, and referred to herself and the other women as “fashion killaz in Abu Dhabi.”
We’re digging the ensem, but we have to say the location for this shoot was definitely ill-advised.
At least she’ll always have the Instagram pics!

“The Centre strives to ensure that visitors enter the mosque in a decent fashion, and refrain from behaving in any way that is inconsistent with the sanctity of this religious place. In the event of behaviour that violates the moral codes of access to the mosque, or other visit regulations ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ such as taking inappropriate pictures, posing in ways that are improper in the context of sacred place, talking loudly, or eating ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ the violators are directed in a polite manner that reflects the civilisational and tolerant attributes of Islam. Usually, the visitors are appreciative of that. Here, the Centre refers to a recent incident, involving a singer who came for a private visit to the mosque, at a gate that is not reserved for visitors, without prior coordination with the Centre├óΓé¼Γäós management and without identifying herself. She was directed by visitor services to proceed to the visitors├óΓé¼Γäó main gate and take the guided tour, according to procedure. She left without entering the mosque, after being asked to do so, due to the fact that she had taken some pictures that do not conform with the conditions and regulations put in place by the Centre├óΓé¼Γäós management to regulate visits in a way that takes the status and sanctity of the mosque into consideration. While the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre always welcomes visitors and tourists from all around the world, it also calls on everyone to adhere to the moral codes of access to the mosque and to its visit regulations, which the Centre always makes sure are clear to all its visitors throughout the day.”
