Rory McIlroy Tries To Brush Off Marriage Problems - But Insiders Say It's BAD!

It really looks from the outside like Rory McIlroy‘s marriage is over. It also looks like he can’t admit it! Not after famously calling off their divorce last year!

But there’s been so much evidence just in the past two weeks. After the golfer won his first Masters — making him only the sixth Grand Slam title holder ever — he failed to mention wife Erica Stoll. And their interactions looked really awkward. Everyone could see it.

Then it appeared Rory took his daughter Poppy with him to Ireland… and left Erica to do her own thing. You know, like they were a divorced couple, and it was his weekend with custody?

Rory is trying to shut down the growing rumors his marriage is over — starting with that last bit of info. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, he clarified Erica was with him and their daughter! Per Us Weekly, he said:

“We first went to London with Erica and Poppy to see our new home that we’re building and we made the trip over to Belfast to see a few other people that are important to us. Just to be with them, to be with Erica and Poppy and my mom and dad.”

The whole family together, and nothing weird going on. Plus he and Erica are building a house together in London. How could there be any problems, right? Y’all buyin’ it??

Well, sources behind the scenes are telling a different story. One told DeuxMoi the couple “living separate lives.” Damn.

That would mean Erica was just showing up with Poppy at the Masters to help keep up appearances for Rory. Sounds like what could be happening is an extremely amicable split behind closed doors… That would be cleaner than a messy divorce, right? At least for Rory’s career and for their kiddo.

But if that’s true, does it really help in the long run to keep living a lie?
