Rush Limbaugh is mad. REALLY mad. It’s not the first time something has really chafed his arse and it probably won’t be the last time, but this time the dude is straight-up pissed!!
While 98.7% of the world rejoiced when CBS announced that Stephen Colbert would fill its David Letterman-shaped Late Show void next year, there are still some who are not as pleased as punch!
Rush, for instance, a wildly popular pundit and radio host amongst conservative America, thinks the selection is tantamount to CBS waging war on its very own country!
On his show today, in response to the news, Rush offered:
“CBS has just declared war on the heartland of America. No longer is comedy going to be a covert assault on traditional American values, conservatives, now it’s just wide out in the open. What this hire means is a redefinition of what is funny and a redefinition of what is comedy… The world is changing, people don’t want the kind of comedy that [Johnny] Carson gave us, or even Letterman.”
Hashtag hyperbole!
We understand that Mr. Colbert has basically made his name skewering right-wing demagogues by, well, pretending to be one and having the world laugh about the silliness of it all, but he’s not anti-American! We’re sure he will do his best to cater to the entire TV-devouring nation!
Take a chill pill, Rush! On second thought, maybe you shouldn’t…
