Ryan Gosling cares a whole heck of a lot!
He’s not only a super hot hunk├óΓé¼┬ª he’s also a compassionate animal lover!
He loves animals so much, he wrote a newspaper article supporting the rights of pigs in his homeland of Canada!
Along with the Humane Society International/Canada and Farm Sanctuary, Ryan is singing the praises of a new draft code made by Canada’s National Farm Animal Care Council.
The draft code seeks to improve the conditions for Canada’s 1,000,000 breeding pigs.
Ryan wrote:
“Within this draft code is a mandate that the pork industry stop relegating, for nearly their entire lives, mother pigs to tiny cages so small they can├óΓé¼Γäót even turn around. I hope it will close this dangerous loophole by disallowing the pork industry from confining pigs for weeks at a time ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ something that I would never dream of doing to [my dog] George, and that no compassionate Canadian would ever do to any animal.
The bond I have with George is not unique. Like me, countless Canadians share their homes and lives with pets they consider to be part of the family. We know that they have individual personalities and quirks (George loves apples, for example) and that they feel both physical and mental pain.”
Hopefully Canada will listen to Ryan, hanging on his every word, like we do!
