And it has allegedly been the cause of the mistress’ divorce!
Bruce Springsteen and New Jersey housewife Ann Kelly have been having an affair and it’s led to the end of her marriage.
The two met at a high end gym in 2005 and it began with harmless chatting and led to lunches until it evolved into a full on tryst! Her two kids even began calling the singer Bruce because they were present at many of those lunches.
“It made her feel good that Bruce Springsteen was very interested in her,” claims a source.
Kelly had friends who would keep her updated on whether Springsteen was at the gym and when his wife would be away.
Everyone close to her kept telling her to quit the gym and cut Bruce out of her life, but her marriage was deteriorating anyway. According to her husband, her “relationship with Bruce Springsteen was the main subject we discussed with the therapist as a major problem in our marriage.”
She spent a lot of money on her physical appearance during that time. She started getting Botox, anti-aging laser treatments, breast implants and a personal trainer. And Bruce noticed! He told her she had the “best ass” at the gym!
Springsteen became smitten with her. He said that he thought about her when he was on tour and dropped off unsigned Valentine’s Day cards in their mailbox in 2007 and 2008.
When Kelly’s husband had open heart surgery, she was having dinner with Springsteen at the Turning Point restaurant in Pier Village in Long Branch.
Both parties have denied the relationship existed.
“Bruce and Patti continue to have a terrific marriage and are very devoted to each other and their children,” said a rep for The Boss.
Riiiiight.
