Holy s**t! Shakira just brutally called out her ex Gerard Piqué’s new girlfriend!
In a new interview with Enrique Acevedo on En Punto on Monday, the Hips Don’t Lie singer got very candid about her emotional split from the soccer star amid allegations he cheated on her with his new girl, 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti. And she made sure to insist there’s “a “place in hell” for the alleged other woman! Damn!
In the candid conversation, the pop star explained that she has learned to become “self-sufficient” for the first time in her life after no longer buying “into the story that a woman needed a man to be complete.”

Making a very pointed jab at the PR student, she explained:
“There is a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.”
Jeez! It’s an old adage at this point, but given the context, it’s pretty clear she means Clara specifically. The Waka Waka star went on to elaborate on how her perspective on life has changed since splitting up with the athlete, whom she was linked to for 11 years, saying:
“I’ve always been emotionally quite dependent on men I’ve fallen in love with love, and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective, and today I am sufficient on my own.”
It sucks that she had to be put through such misery to learn this, but what a great realization to have!

Shakira seems thankful for the changed POV, adding that she has “come out stronger” after facing “life’s battles.” These days, she is trying to pour all her attention onto her children, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8. The Grammy winner said she’s focused on being a “lioness” for her little ones. (As opposed to Gerard who is a cheetah? Ha!) On helping her kids to navigate the major change in their lives, Shak expressed:
“That strength comes out of experiencing a painful loss, of accepting it, of tolerating a frustration, of understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want.”
The 46-year-old continued:
“There are dreams that are broken, and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again and also be an example to my children.”
The couple announced their split in June after cheating allegations. They have since managed to figure out a custody agreement and Shakira has plans to move with her kids from Barcelona to Miami. But that’s about the only thing that they can agree on. Since the breakup, the pair have been embroiled in a very messy war of words, with the Zootopia alum most notably taking as many shots as she can in various new songs! We’re sorry to hear she’s been struggling so much, but we love that she’s willing to get so vulnerable about this sensitive time in her love life. Spanish speakers can catch more (below)!
