Folks started speculating Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were hooking up from the moment the Señorita music video dropped.
At first we thought it was just typical fan shipping — but as the weeks have gone by we’ve only gotten more and more evidence!
However, nothing official yet…
So is this happening or what??
Let’s look at all the evidence at hand, shall we??

1. Señorita
OK, this music video is PURE heat.
In case you haven’t seen…
The two are performers, sure, but have you ever seen either look THIS convincing in any of their music videos?
Was anyone saying this after I Know What You Did Last Summer?
We mean…
Even if there was nothing before filming started, it’s hard to watch this and — you know what, let’s use the word difficult, LOLz! — it’s difficult to watch this and not see the spark between these two.
But that wasn’t the end of it — it was just the beginning!
2. Behind The Scenes
Each week since the video, Shawn has released a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Señorita.
And even in rehearsals there is just SO MUCH chemistry between the singers.
While these BTS vids often remove the movie magic by revealing how things are done, and showing how many people are crowded around a monitor watching the romantic leads kiss, this one…
Well, frankly it looks like a lot of people witnessing love happening. There, we said it.
Just look at how Shawn himself reacts to footage of the two getting steamy!
Even he sees it!
3. Splitsville
Look, there are suspiciously timed breakups, and there are suspiciously timed breakups. *cough*bradleycooper*cough*
Camila had been dating a “relationship expert” named Matthew Hussey in the months before the video.
Right after it drops, suddenly it’s revealed they broke up a month previous?
Oh, and we’re also supposed to believe it was one of those very common (and not made-up) totally chill mutual breakups.
And she had just been talking about how great whatisname was a couple months before that…
It’s almost as if something changed.
4. Fourth Of July
It’s ironic the first time Shawmila were spotted getting cozy for real was on Independence Day — because they seemed less independent and more like a CONFIRMED COUPLE.
It was actually two days in a row as Shawn and Camila were photographed holding hands on Wednesday and then caught all snuggly on video Thursday.
Not to mention separate eyewitnesses who saw them at Nobu that night looking “very intimate.”
There’s no way this is a misunderstanding, right??
5. Photo Evidence
One of the biggest pieces of evidence so far was obtained exclusively right here at PerezHilton.com.
A month before the rumors of Shawn and Camila dating, an eyewitness spotted them together on Memorial Day.
And that wasn’t all.
The source told us:
“They were super flirty and clearly on a date!”
Good evidence!
6. His Denial
When straight up asked about the relationship by a fan during a Q&A sesh, Shawn denied it.

But he also didn’t spend very much time on it. Almost like he had something to hide…
7. Late Nights
Oh yeah, that whole denial is a little tougher to buy when it’s followed up immediately by yet another Shawmila sighting.
In a since deleted tweet, a fan shared a low-key video of the two sitting together, as in on the same side of the booth, at a diner.
This was at 5 a.m. btw — and something tells us they were up late, not early.
8. All A Ploy
OK, so obviously with all the evidence pointing one way, for some people on the Internet that means it must be a lie.
The moon landing, climate change, the Earth being round ffs — conspiracy theories abound surrounding everything.
But this one is pretty inneresting…
Both Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are recording artists for whom being in the public eye is a HUGE boost to sales and streams.
Could it be they’re FAKING this whole relationship just to get more attention?
If so, why are they being so coy about it though? Why deny? Why not just go hit a red carpet together??
Unless…
Maybe it’s reverse psychology? Keep denying it so everyone has to dig more? That almost sells it more than being upfront.
