Camila Cabello loves Shawn Mendes and doesn’t care who knows it — but she doesn’t love when fans ambush her with their opinions about social media PDA!
The Señorita singer felt “personally targeted” when a fan called in to her BBC Radio 1 interview with Greg James to vent her frustrations about couples who show “public displays of affection on Instagram.”
Camila, who was featured in a comically sloppy makeout video with her pop-rocker boyfriend that he shared on the platform just a few months ago, felt the topic was a bit pointed. After the caller made her case against PDA, she replied:
“Ouch, I feel personally targeted. I feel personally attacked. Yeah, PDA is terrible. I mean, kissing in public? I don’t even…”
When the caller clarified that she was speaking against couples who frequently leave cutsey comments on each other’s IG accounts, however, Camila said she understood where the PDA critic was coming from.

As for her own perspective on PDA, the Fifth Harmony alum admitted the paparazzi have caused her to be “desensitized” when it comes to kissing in public. She explained:
“You, honestly, get kind of desensitized to it. You’re like, ‘Well, might as well make out on Instagram.’ Might as well!”

As fans know, Camila and Shawn have been caught locking lips several times since they started dating back in July. Earlier this month, they were spotted having an enthusiastic kissing sesh while sitting court-side at a Los Angeles Clippers game: the PDA was so eye-catching, Workaholics star Adam DeVine trolled the couple for it on social media!

The pair also got steamy during their performance at the 2019 American Music Awards. Following their big show and Collaboration of the Year win, Cami took to Instagram to give her beau a shout out, writing:
“i love u @shawnmendes. thank u for being so there for me yesterday and every other day, u have the most caring and beautiful heart in the world ! thanks to all our fans for voting , we love and appreciate you guys so much and are so thankful for you.”
