Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton may have a lot of fans, but 10 Magazine editor and Victoria’s Secret stylist Sophia Neophitou isn’t one of them.
After the SI swimsuit issue was revealed, Sophia told the New York Times she would never cast Miz Upton in the VS fashion show because her looks are “too obvious”. She adds:
“She├óΓé¼Γäós like a Page 3 girl,├óΓé¼┬¥ Ms. Neophitou said, referring to the scantily clad voluptuous women featured in The Sun, a London tabloid. ├óΓé¼┼ôShe├óΓé¼Γäós like a footballer├óΓé¼Γäós wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”
Ouch. That’s a little harsh, no?
Actually, Sophia isn’t the only one criticizing Sports Illustrated‘s cover choice.
People have been sounding off on the web, saying the only reason Kate got the cover is because she’s reportedly dating NFL star Mark Sanchez.
They’re also saying the cover is trashy and shows how desperate SI is for sales.
