Four Dead, Hundreds Of Students Lost At Sea In Devastating South Korean Shipwreck

south korea ship sinking dead rescued
Oh no. This is just too horrible.
Four people are reported dead, and hundreds are still missing after a ferry suddenly sank off the coast of South Korea.
The Sewol was taking a local high school class to an island resort when witnesses reported a loud bump. The ship sank less than two hours after making its first distress call, remarkably – and tragically – quickly.
So far, authorities report that 164 people have been rescued, but another 292 are still missing.
Of those onboard, 325 were students from Seoul’s Ansan Danwon High School taking a class trip. It’s still unclear whether any students were among the four confirmed dead.
Rescue teams are struggling against bad weather, cold temperatures, and low visibility in an effort to find the remaining passengers. Our prayers are with them.
