Stanford Rapist Judge Removed From Upcoming Sexual Assault Case!

no title
At least there’s still some justice in the world!
Judge Aaron Persky potentially ruined his career when he sentenced the Stanford Rapist to only six months in jail… but now we’re finally getting to see the repercussions of his actions.
First jurors refused to serve on the California judge’s unrelated court cases, now we’re hearing he has been removed from an upcoming rape case entirely!

Santa Clara County is about to try a sexual assault case where a San Jose nurse allegedly raped a patient while she was anesthetized, and the District Attorney announced Tuesday that he no longer believes Judge Persky is fit to serve!
While the decision to remove Persky from the hearing stemmed from a misdemeanor he threw out on Monday, we think it’s safe to say D.A. Jeff Rosen didn’t want a recreation of the Brock Turner disaster, saying:

“We are disappointed and puzzled at Judge Persky’s unusual decision to unilaterally dismiss a case before the jury could deliberate. After this and the recent turn of events, we lack confidence that Judge Persky can fairly participate in this upcoming hearing in which a male nurse sexually assaulted an anesthetized female patient.”

“And the recent turn of events” is clearly code for “that time he gave a convicted rapist a slap on the wrist.”
Apparently, the scandalized Judge threw out a misdemeanor theft for seemingly no reason on Monday… leading the D.A.’s Office to believe he might not be the best adjudicator in these matters…
Well, duh!!!
It’s unclear which of Persky’s peers will be replacing him when the case inevitably moves to trial, but we’re just glad he’ll be nowhere near the courtroom when it does!
