Oh, Star! Oh… STAR!!!
Thursday, on national television, Star Jones made a statement regarding Anderson Cooper‘s recent coming out.
And it is shocking!
According to Star, Anderson probably came out just to get a ratings’ boost… kinda like when Oprah admitted to smoking crack!
Or if you want it verbatim, she said:
“He’s a daytime talk show host and when the rating slip in daytime, the hosts tend to tell you lots of things about them. I remember Oprah said she smoked crack, Oprah said she was pregnant at 14 and considered suicide. There [are] times when you generate information for ratings.”
Of course, right after she said that, she realized the error of her candor and said, “Whoa! I shouldn’t have said that! [To Anderson] I say bravo! Bravo!”
Still… the damage had been done.
And now we all know Star’s real feelings. Sure, a lot of celebrities do a lot of things for ratings or publicity. But when we’re talking about something so personal, impact, a lil’ extra consideration for national television would be nice.
