Minority High School Student President Was Forced To Resign By Rich White Guys! Decide If She Was In The Wrong HERE!

student president resigns after sharing racial picture
This is a tricky situation!
Maya Peterson was the first black, female student body president at New Jersey’s expensive private Lawrenceville School, but she was forced to resign.
The teen has a history of posting racially charged things on all forms of social media, but what got her in trouble was when she posted a picture of herself making fun of a white, affluent “Lawrenceville boi,” where she was dressed in a Yale sweater, is holding a hockey stick, and wearing L.L. Bean duck boots.
She also added the hastags #romney2016, #confederate, and #peakedinhighschool.
NOT the kind of behavior you expect from the student body president!
Maya explained that she posted the pic because she’d received backlash after her senior photo included 10 black students with their fists raised in the ‘black power’ salute. So, she said:

“I understand why I hurt people├óΓé¼Γäós feelings, but I didn├óΓé¼Γäót become president to make sure rich white guys had more representation on campus. Let├óΓé¼Γäós be honest. They├óΓé¼Γäóre not the ones that feel uncomfortable here.”

But this isn’t the first time Maya has said racially charged things! When President Barack Obama was voted into office again, she said on Facebook:

“As a black and Latino gay woman in the United States of America, today is a momentous day. I’m sorry to all the rich white men who have failed to elect a president that endorses their greed.”

Coincidentally, she hates on rich people, but her parents are paying Lawrenceville’s full $53,000 tuition themselves, which is more than most of Americans makes in an entire year!
Students also previously sent pictures of Maya smoking marijuana to the school administrators, but they seemed to do nothing about that.
Racial pictures and statements like this are not always bad, because they make us talk about the issues, which is the first step toward inclusiveness.
However, that’s not always what we need from a leader. If the President were to post a “typical white boi” pic, even in jest, it wouldn’t go over well at all!
So, we’re curious what you think…
