We’re STILL laughing about Taraji P. Henson‘s mix-up of Coldplay and Maroon 5!
As we previously reported, the Empire star took to Instagram to cheer on Maroon 5 during the Super Bowl‘s halftime show… only it wasn’t Adam Levine‘s popular band.
Yep, Miz Henson totally didn’t realize it was Chris Martin‘s British group performing!
Merp. However, since the social media hiccup the 45-year-old’s deleted the post and explained what EXACTLY went down at the game.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed:
“So, I don’t know if you know how it goes down in the suites. They put a lot of drinks in there ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ Kool-Aid, lemonade, iced tea. I mixed it all, and I sat there, and I’m sitting with people who drank the Kool-Aid as well.”
HIGHlarious! To make matters worse, it appears her friends are the ones convinced her that it was Maroon 5 performing. She continued:
“Everyone’s talking about Maroon 5, and I put it down. And I’m like, ├óΓé¼╦£That’s not Maroon 5, right?’ And they’re like, ‘No, that’s Maroon 5!’ and I’m like, ‘Are you sure?'”
Hmm, we wonder if those “friends” were fellow selfie takers Amy Adams and January Jones?? Anywho, we digress.
Luckily, many of Taraji’s other friends made sure to notify the A-lister that she had made a mistake. The Person of Interest alum concluded:
“Everybody texted me ‘Change your post! Change your post!’ I [thought] they were mad because I didn’t give all my eyes to Beyonc├â┬⌐, and I’m like ‘The Beyonc├â┬⌐ post is coming!’ Then I realized it was Coldplay. I’m human. I made a mistake. It happens! Come on, I drank the Kool-Aid!”
Poor thing! LOLz!
Regardless, Taraji’s mistake was certainly one of our favorite highlights from the entire game. HA!
