Ugh!
We’re hearing more evidence that Harvey Weinstein intentionally derailed Mira Sorvino‘s acting career. As we reported, Peter Jackson revealed the disgraced producer blacklisted both Mira and Ashley Judd from Lord Of The Rings — and now Terry Zwigoff (pictured above) has come forward saying the Miramax exec and his brother, Bob, kept him from casting the 50-year-old actress in Bad Santa.

The 68-year-old filmmaker shared on Twitter:
I was interested in casting Mira Sorvino in BAD SANTA, but every time I mentioned her over the phone to the Weinsteins, I’d hear a CLICK. What type of person just hangs up on you like that?! I guess we all know what type of person now. I’m really sorry Mira. https://t.co/9U0PsL2yS5

Weinstein’s lawyer said in a statement to EW:
“Mr. Weinstein denies speaking with Terry regarding casting. That was a Dimension film (Bob Weinstein) and Harvey had nothing to do with it.”
Wow, what a coward.
As for Mira, she’s understandably shaken that Harvey used his power to thwart her career, but she’s touched by all the support she’s received during this time, writing on social media:
I am blown away by all the immensely loving support you have all been giving me. These have been a very rough few days, feeling like twenty years of effort were thwarted. But all this goodwill and kindness touches my heart… thank you all
