Johnny Depp Appears In The Canyons' Official Trailer; Lindsay Lohan Does Not!

While Joey Fantastico‘s breathtaking footage serves as a valentine to the city of angels, we’re wondering something here…
WHERE’S LINDSAY LOHAN!?!
She and porn star James Deen lead in this “contemporary L.A. noir,” yet she’s nowhere to be found.
Instead, we’re captivated by b-roll of El Lay sights and reminded of The Hills. Though to be fair, whoever was in charge of releasing the trailer added this in the description:

It’s not The Hills…

LOL!!
Okay, we gotta hand it to ’em on that one. A sense of humor tells us this Bret Easton Ellis-penned Paul Schrader film has a lot of potential. In fact, the film’s marketing seems to be completely anti-Hills.
After you read the synopsis, we think you’ll be intrigued too, as it reads:

“[A film] about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20’s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.”

DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!! Who doesn’t love a good (fictionalized) dose of that? Hmm??
And yeah, we can applaud the trailer (sans Lindsay or not). Using a different approach can always be risky but clearly they’ve got some ballz!
….and Johnny Depp‘s flawless face.
