As we mentioned last month, The Hills has been picked up for a 5th season of “reality” on MTV.
But after looking at the ratings from the season four finale of the show last week, we wonder if MTV execs made the right decision!
The scripted improv show aired its season finale on December 22nd. But, unfortunately, it didn’t bring in the numbers the network suits were expecting/hoping.
In fact, they saw a big drop from the previous season closer!
This past season finale averaged just about 2.6 million viewers. That’s down from the 3.8 million that tuned in for the season three finale which aired back in May.
And, the show’s season four total-viewer’s average was down 25% from the last season average.
What will Lauren Conrad do with herself after the show is over?
Next season seems like it will definitely be the last of The Hills as we know it – before Speidi get their own spinoff!
