Since today is election day and there’s no room on the TV schedule, The Voice had to cram two nights of acts into one show on Monday!
Not only that, but the competition show opted to do real-time voting which meant same night eliminations for EIGHT singers!!

After all 20 performers sang, America voted on two to save and then each coach chose one person they wanted to keep. The bad news is, with so many performances, quite a few people had to be sent packing, and The Voice fans on Twitter were NOT prepared for it!
While there were PLENTY of wonderful performances, standouts ALWAYS happen and this week that honor belonged to Billy Gilman as he beautifully performed Roy Orbison‘s Crying — which just so happened to be featured the night before on The Walking Dead — weird.
W├â┬⌐ McDonald was once again a highlight, though she did stumble a little with Stephanie Mills‘ Home…
Ch-ch-check out last night’s highlights from The Voice and find out who got eliminated to see why fans were so angry on Twitter (below)!

Once everyone got their song in, the coaches had one HELLUVA decision to make — who did they keep?!
Alicia Keys was up first and since this is her inaugural live show, she was having a little trouble deciding who to save. Seeing as how voting chose Christian Cuevas and W├â┬⌐ as the top two on Team Alicia, and the songstress decided to keep Sa’Rayah, meaning Kylie Rothfield and Josh Halverson were sent home. Whomp!

Blake Shelton also seemed very troubled with the live show’s quick pace as he agreed everything happened “too fast.” After the singer learned the country voted to keep team members Sundance Head and Austin Allsup, Blake saved Courtney Harrell which meant saying goodbye to Jason Warrior and Dana Harper.
As for Miley Cyrus, she made it a point to tell everyone she makes her own decisions and doesn’t “listen to what people tell her to do.” Well, the U.S. voted and decided to keep Aaron Gibson and Ali Caldwell which sent Sophia Urista and Belle Jewel packing after Cyrus saved crowd favorite Darby Walker. Great job not pandering, Miley! LOLz!

Coach Adam Levine may have had the toughest time deciding who to save after Billy and Josh Gallagher were both saved by America, so the Maroon 5 singer saved Brendan Fletcher! Unfortunately, that spelled bad news for and Simone Gundy or Riley Elmore fans as they had to exit the show.
With SO many eliminations, you can imagine not everyone was extremely thrilled; several fans took to Twitter to share:
What. Just. Happened. #TheVoice

Quite shocked that Riley Elmore didn’t go through to the next round. It must have been the song choice? #TheVoice

The hell is this live voting crap? Shouldn’t people wait until they’ve heard everyone sing before voting? :l #VoicePlayoffs #TheVoice
