The coaches on NBC├óΓé¼Γäós The Voice sure hit the ground running! What├óΓé¼Γäós more, Shakira and Usher — filling in for Christina Aguilera and Cee Loo Green this season — wasted no time joining Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in their race to form their team of talented potentials.
With a stellar opening number (above) — the coaches├óΓé¼Γäó rendition of the Beatles Come Together, each performing with their own instruments no less — the bar was set higher than it has been in the past! One word: WOW.
But the truly unforgettable performances of the night came from Judith Hill and The Morgan Twins. Ch-ch-check ├óΓé¼╦£em out…AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Judith, who was originally meant to be a backup singer on Michael Jackson’s This Is It tour before his untimely death, sung a soulful version of Christina’s What A Girl Wants (below), with a performance that had Adam standing on his chair.
Adam later gave the singer one of the biggest compliments she could get:
├óΓé¼┼ôYou are the first person that├óΓé¼Γäós ever come on this show and done a Christina song as well as Christina Aguilera… As far as I├óΓé¼Γäóm concerned, I├óΓé¼Γäóm running for President right now.├óΓé¼┬¥
Of course, Usher had to respond:
“But I’m looking for the first lady, because he woulda never made it without her.”
But no luck! Judith chose Team Adam!
And The Morgan Twins, whose rendition of Alicia Keys’ Fallen (below) had all four coaches turn around for the first time this season!
Which coach did they choose?! None other than Blake who said they were “a dream come true for most men!”
Oh, we’re in for an emotional ride this season. Such amazing talent, and this was only the premiere! YIKES!
