This is awful.
Tommy Hanson, a pitcher who played in the MLB for five seasons and had just finished his 10th season of professional baseball in September, died late Monday night after catastrophic organ failure.

The Redlands, California native was just 29 years old.
Hanson had been admitted to an Atlanta-area hospital after apparently having trouble breathing, and then lapsed into a coma.
From there, sadly, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away.
Hanson reached the Major Leagues in 2009 and his career was on the rise with the Atlanta Braves before being sidetracked with a shoulder injury in 2011.
When he tried to come back in 2012, he wasn’t the same pitcher as he had been before the injury, and the Braves traded him to the Los Angeles Angels before the 2013 season. It was also before that season that Hanson’s step-brother died, causing the pitcher to take time away from his new team.

Hanson played in the minor leagues the last two years, pitching his final game on September 5, 2015 for the Sacramento River Cats, an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
