Having such a prolific Hollywood career, it’s no surprise Cate Blanchett has an army of fans.
Though it may surprise some that the actress’ most passionate fan is fellow actor Val Kilmer, who made his admiration for the Blue Jasmine star very clear on Twitter.
The Batman Forever star spent his weekend gushing over Blanchett’s raw talent and beauty, coming across like the world’s most obsessed fan.

Kilmer, who appeared alongside the Aussie actress in the 2003 Western The Missing, kicked off his peculiar rant on Friday by claiming he once flew to Blanchett’s home to see her — but (thankfully) was met by her husband Andrew Upton instead.
Sharing an up-close-and-personal selfie, the 57-year-old wrote:
Once I flew all the way to Australia just to talk to Cate Blanchett. Her husband met me first. Or, instead, I guess, to be accurate. pic.twitter.com/xSoYxRi0jh

And recently I’ve had 2 dreams with #CateBlanchett in them. Her husband wasn’t in either of them.

You know what that means… *wink, wink*!
Unfortunately for Val, it looks as if he’ll have to keep dreaming of any future with the Oscar-winner — as she and her playwright husband have been married since 1997 and have four children together.

Still, that didn’t stop the Top Gun actor from gushing about his one time costar for the remainder of the weekend.
In fact, Kilmer claimed Blanchett’s talents were so phenomenal, he once forgot his lines while acting alongside her because he was so blown away by how she picked up a shovel. He wrote:
She’s just as amazing in person. Some super stars aren’t-Some superstars don’t do a thing to ya in person-Cate is so real it’s almost unreal

Once I did a cameo just to hang w/ #cateblanchett who pickd up a shovel in our sc. I was so dazzled by HOW she picked it up I forgot my line

And no, Val didn’t care that his posts may have come across as over-enthusiastic (and borderline creepy) — he made it clear his tweets were all love and respect, adding:
I’ve never done said or written a single idea that wasn’t of the highest respect and admiration for #cateblanchett or any other great talent

She’s a friend of mine and I’ve met her husband thru the years and we’ve all gotten along just fine. Anyone who thinks I need to curb my

Enthusiasm for a great rare artist doesn’t understand how difficult the job is and how we artist count on the respect of our peers. She will

Back up every word I say n love that I say I love her. I would love an actor I didn’t even enjoy if he flew the world to talk about a role.

Okay, Val. Calm down, we can hear your heavy breathing from here.
Let’s just agree that Cate Blanchett is always a revelation and leave it at that.
