What's Killing Shamu?

What's Killing Shamu?

Something fishy is going on at Sea World!
Within the last four months, three whales have died in captivity at Sea World. The deceased whale was only 25 years old. That may seem old for an animal so large, but in the wild, their life expectancy is 40-90 years!
This is the third killer whale death this year, none of which were above 30 years old.
Sea World claims the deaths are in no way linked to one another and the environments the whales are in aren’t a contributing factor. This isn’t the first time Sea World has come under scrutiny – early this year a trainer was killed by a whale.
It seems pretty clear to us what the problem is. The whales are depressed! Depression leads to deaths in human beings – it’s pretty clear it affects other animals!
This is a perfect example why we shouldn’t keep animals in captivity!
