Chris Rock is still feeling the sting of the slap and isn’t listening to Will Smith‘s apologies!
After the chaos of last year’s Oscars, in which the actor waltzed onstage and slapped the s**t out of the comic, things have been tense between the pair (and reasonably so)! But that doesn’t mean Will is going to stop trying to patch things up with Chris — in fact, he’s dead-set on making “amends” with him. So far things aren’t going so great, though!

On his newest Netflix comedy special Selective Outrage, Chris went all-in on the scandal, saying:
“Everybody f**kin’ knows. Yes, it happened, like a year ago, I got smacked at the f**king Oscars by this motherf**ker. People are like, ‘Did it hurt? It still hurts! I’ve got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears … You will never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying. Never gonna happen. I took that hit like Pacquiao, motherf**ker.”
He asserted he wasn’t a “victim” in his set, but even so he doesn’t want to have anything to do with said slapper. He even went on to diss Jada Pinkett Smith about her “entanglement” with singer August Alsina from years ago. Yeah, doesn’t look like he’s keeping Will’s wife’s name out of his mouth…
Along with his 10 year ban from the Academy Awards, Will is facing some trouble as he tries to reach out and apologize to the SNL alum. A source told People on Monday the 54-year-old has “felt terrible for so long” over the incident:
“He’s tried unsuccessfully to make amends in the best way he could with Chris.”
Oof.
The insider went on to say he’s leaned on family heavily to get through the tough times:
“But beyond that, family is important to him and [Smith] leaned on them. It all has helped him look inside and mature. He is better but still remorseful.”
Will seems to think he’s doing much better now, too, according to the source:
“Will listened to those who tried to help him and feels that he has become a better person.”
Could this be petty revenge for Will not picking up the phone years ago, though? According to the Madagascar actor in his comedy special, when the news broke of Jada’s “entanglement” with August and everyone was calling Will a “bitch,”, he tried to call the I Am Legend star but couldn’t get through to him:
“Everybody. And who’s he hit? Me, a n**** he knows he can beat. That is some bitch-ass s**t.”
An eye for an eye? Or perhaps a voicemail for a voicemail? Hmm…
