Britney Prescribed Prozac As Teenager?

During her Oops! I Did It Again tour in 2000, Britney Spears was prescribed the anti-depressant Prozac at age 18 to combat depression and panic attacks, according to an explosive new book about the pop star.
A source claims, “She had trouble sleeping and crying fits. She was restless and agitated. Nights were the only times she was alone and she struggled with that… When nothing was happening, it drove her crazy. Only exhaustion would knock her out.”
Britney was treated with Prozac but did not take the drug regularly.
She took a pill only on the days she awoke depressed which increasingly worsened her mental state as the medication should be taken on a daily basis.
Even if she was just the moneymaker, someone should have been watching out for her!!!!
yeah i think she has abandonment issues. that's why during her worst times she would sleep in hotels everyday even when she had a house 5 minutes a way … and as most of you know she surrounded herself with manipulative users who wanted fame and money. but i think she's in a better place now, so let's just forget about rehashing her twisted past with an alcoholic father and a suicidal grandma.

Wow that article was an intense read … but it makes sense. Sometimes she would seem down in interview but on stage she was like fire…
But I think they need to change her medication now … it doesn't seem stable enough. And her weight fluctuates a lot too … one day she's look heavy and then the next days she'll be stick thin.
Prozac can fuck you up! I think it did just "that" to her. I'm glad to see her off that shitz! She's has two boys to raise, hopefully she's doing it 'drug free' now.

Its a known fact that depression pills won't take effect until 2 weeks after you started them and been on them for 2 weeks. It doesn't work with just one and it doesn't start right away or even hours.
They "should have been watching out for her" too make sure she actually TOOK the prozac? To make sure she didn't abuse prozac? to make sure she she was well-adjusted and didn't need prozac? to monitor her behavior while on prozac? I could go on. If you're going to go to the trouble to get the girl on medication, you should at least do the follow-up to make sure it's being administered properly.
